Intermountain Republican Women Federated
Welcome to our Federation
Political activism is important
Civic education is essential
The National Federation of Republican Women, our parent organization, was founded in 1938. Its primary functions were two-fold: education and activism. The first objective was the education of women on political issues and governmental processes. The other purpose was to prepare women for leadership roles in our own organization as well as in the Republican Party and all levels of the government. The Federation’s purposes remain the same today.
To fulfill these aims the Federation conducts meetings on current topics of political interest and workshops on the theme of leadership.
The Federation is structured into national, state, division, county and unit clubs. Members of local clubs are automatically enrolled in the divisions noted above.
The National Federation of Republican Women currently has over 100,000 members nationally enrolled in 1,825 unit clubs. ( www.nfrw.org) Our statewide Federation was established in 1925 and has an active membership of 23,000 organized into 260 local clubs.( www.cfrw.org) Our club, Intermountain Republican Women Federated (IRWF), has a membership of 114 and accepts new members through the end of September. The IRWF is an organization supported entirely by its dedicated volunteers. We welcome women as members and men as associate members. IRWF encourages our members to become actively involved in the political process. Our members are mentored to develop their own style of activism and political leadership. They become truly effective.
IRWF is a 527 not-for-profit political organization. As such we are bound by the rules and regulations of the United States, the State of California and San Diego County that govern our activities. We have a structure on our activities, which include the bylaws and standing rules of our National, State, Division, County and Unit Clubs as well as Robert’s Rules of Order.
